Extra Curricular Activities at Bosworth

Three of our student houses overlook a five-acre park ideal for outdoor sports, football being the most popular. In the same vicinity we have exclusive use of a sports hall where, in the evenings and at weekends, students can participate in a varied number of indoor sports: badminton, basketball, volleyball, table-tennis and 5-a-side-football.

Every Thursday we provide an enrichment session and students can elect to participate in a range of different activities. These vary each term but include, a music club, debating society, business enterprise club and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Bosworth’s Student Council regularly organise some fundraising events for different charities and these have included a Fairtrade day, international football tournaments and the annual Christmas and summer balls.

Within the College, we provide students with an opportunity to work on the Tea Team. Students organise the morning and afternoon coffee breaks for both staff and students.

Occasionally, our older students choose to remain in the UK over holiday periods and many use this opportunity to find local employment to experience a working environment and to broaden their CV.

Every year new events and activities evolve; this is very often driven by the interests of new students.

At Bosworth Independent College, many students take part in, and are encouraged, to seek student work experience and student volunteer opportunities. There are some employment opportunities within the college and we offer support and advice to place students in businesses outside the college.

For all GCSE students in the UK taking part in a student work experience is part of the course. Many of our other students also work at weekends and over the holidays.
