Northampton Town
Bosworth Independent College is located in
Northampton, a small town with a rich and
distinguished history, situated in the heart of
England. With London only an hour away by road or
rail, and the UK’s other major university cities
within easy reach, it is the perfect learning
environment in a central location. Northampton
remains a small market town surrounded by
beautiful countryside, and today has all the
added benefits of modern living. It offers the
perfect environment for our young students with
the town centre just a twenty-minute walk from
the College. Here students can enjoy some leisure
and social facilities as well as a small shopping
complex. In keeping with tradition, the market
square continues to hold one of the biggest open
air markets in the country. It is surrounded on
all four sides by historic buildings that retain
much of their old charm, despite being converted
to modern day shops. It is a town with ongoing
investment and as the University expands,
increasingly more students are coming to
Northampton.
The county of Northamptonshire is famously referred to as “the Rose of the Shires” and our own College emblem reflects the relevance of the Tudor Rose and the historic links to the famous Battle of Bosworth that saw the birth of the Tudor dynasty. The county has many famous family mansions and castles, some of which we visit on our summer school programme.
