Economics Course Information

Economics explores the best way for countries, business and people to make the most of their resources. It is therefore useful for anyone interested in the world of finance.

Economists ask questions such as:
  1. Why do the prices of many goods change so much?
  2. How do governments manage their economies?
  3. Why are many companies such as supermarkets criticised for being so large?
  4. Why are some countries rich and others poor?
  5. How do exchange rates affect the economy?
It is a very good A Level to improve you ability to write and think about complex issues. It is therefore accepted for a variety of universities and courses as a way to demonstrate your ability to think logically and write clearly. You can use it as the first step in a career in finance or business. However, some students study it out of personal interest and as a way to gain a well rounded education.
